Where Do CCNA Graduates Actually Get Hired? 284 Real Placements, Analysed
Every institute in Ahmedabad will tell you networking has good placements. None of them will show you the list. So here is ours: 284 named placements we have recorded since 2004, across 226 different companies — with the methodology, and with the gaps in the data stated openly.
The short answer
There is no single company that hires networking freshers in Gujarat. Across 284 placements, our five largest recruiters together account for only 9% of hires. 191 of 226 employers (85%) hired exactly one of our students, ever. Networking employment here is a long tail of small and mid-sized companies — not a handful of big IT names.
Why this surprises people
Ask a student where they hope to work after CCNA and you will hear Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Cisco. Those names are in our list. But they are the exception, not the route.
Infosys is our single biggest recruiter — with 7 students out of 284. That is 2.5%. The overwhelming majority of networking jobs in this state are at companies you have never heard of: a machinery manufacturer that needs someone to run its plant network, a ceramics exporter in Rajkot, a regional ISP, a hospital, a bank's back office, a systems integrator with 30 staff.
This is good news, and most students have it backwards. A long tail means there is no single gate to get through. You are not competing with 40,000 applicants for one campus drive. You are looking for one of hundreds of companies that each need one or two competent network engineers and cannot find them.

Does the certification level change the outcome?
199 of 284 placements (70%) were students who held CCNA and nothing more. They were hired on CCNA alone.
This matters because it answers a question we are asked constantly: "Do I need to finish CCNP before anyone will hire me?" On this evidence, no. CCNP shows up in our records mostly as a second qualification taken later — often by people who were already working and wanted to move up. It is a promotion route, not an entry requirement. Where the jobs are
Read the limitation before the numbers. We only recorded a work location for 102 of the 284 records (36%). The other 182 are blank in our register — mostly older entries. So the table below describes the 102 placements where we know the answer, and nothing more. It is not a breakdown of all 284, and we are not going to present it as one.

Within that subset, the pattern is clear enough to be worth stating: most people stay in Ahmedabad. Pune and Bengaluru are the main destinations for those who leave. A small number went abroad — Canada, the USA, Australia, Dubai.
Methodology, and what this data is not
We would rather you trust this than be impressed by it, so here is exactly what it is.
- Source. Our own placement register, maintained since 2004. Every one of the 284 records is a named individual, and the full list is published at student placements — names, certification, company. You can check it.
- It is self-reported. These are placements our students told us about. No third party has audited them. We are the interested party here and you should read the numbers with that in mind.
- It is not a placement rate. This is a count of students we know got jobs. It is not "284 out of X students, therefore Y% placement" — we do not publish a placement percentage, because we cannot verify what happened to every student who ever walked through the door, and any institute that quotes you a precise percentage cannot either. - It spans 22 years. A placement from 2008 and one from 2025 are counted the same. The job market has changed enormously in between.
- Locations are 36% complete. Stated above, repeated here because it is the biggest hole in the data.
- Salaries are not included — we did not record them consistently, so we are not going to estimate them. Anyone showing you an average fresher salary for networking in Gujarat is almost certainly guessing.
If you are choosing a career, the useful takeaway
Stop optimising for the campus drive at a big IT firm. On 284 real outcomes, that is not where networking careers in Gujarat start. Learn to configure real equipment, get the CCNA, and apply to the hundreds of ordinary companies that quietly run networks and cannot hire anyone who knows how they work.
